In order to form an (educated) opinion in the past, one had to do research, and research the research in order to form what one felt was an educated standpoint.
Now, all we have to see is a pretty graphic/article/quote in our news feed and we formulate a possibly life altering opinion (to/not to vaccinate, eating/not eating certain foods, for/against gun control, to drink/not to drink tap water, THANKS OBAMA).
Then... you love it so much because it either woo's you or it confirms what you believed to be true to begin with that you SHARE this misinformation. Sharing the misinformation gives it credibility to your loved ones, and they have the opportunity to take it as truth.
Think critically- look for double-blind peer reviewed studies, research the credentials of the people quoted in the "articles", research the credibility of the news source presenting the information (why the heck do satire stories still go viral as if believed to be truth, people?!).
We are smarter than this. We are better than this.
DO NOT share this graphic. It's bullocks.
